I’m impressed with the effort Pinball Arcade APK MOD seems to put into recreating each machine. The visuals, sounds, and effects feel authentic and add to the presentation, although there is a bit of blurriness while playing on an iPad 2. The physics, while occasionally unforgiving, seem to offer a good balance between realism and challenge. What I admire most, however, is how much Pinball Arcade APK MOD offers in terms of knowledge for each table.

When you select a table, you’re given a brief history, the option to view a real steering wheel (some are low resolution), and a comprehensive instruction manual detailing every objective you can achieve on that table. The game truly wants you to learn, experience, and master each table—a concept I wholeheartedly endorse. Of course, the game works well for the casual player who just wants a quick game, but I feel some of the charm is lost when you experience it that way.

And more importantly, Pinball Arcade APK MOD simply nails the gameplay and feel of playing a pinball machine. Whether you’re balancing a multi-ball run, trying to execute a combo or objective, or finally unlocking the high-scoring “endgame” items, every experience feels real—something I don’t often find when playing iOS games. Even better, since each table has its own personality and can take a while to master, there’s tons of depth to it. I was also impressed by the variety of table selection, although I wasn’t the biggest fan of ‘Black Hole’ (too simple and playful for my taste).

While Pinball Arcade MOD APK nails almost every aspect of a great pinball game, I had some issues with its leaderboard integration. The game exclusively uses Facebook to track high scores, which I found quite cumbersome. This is further evidenced by the fact that even simple actions like checking the leaderboards seem clunky and slow to update (and I haven’t seen one of my scores upload yet). I understand that many people use Facebook (and it seems they went the route of cross-platform leaderboard compatibility), but Game Center support is a prerequisite these days. In-app purchases are another aspect that seems confusing; I don’t understand why the game asks for both my Facebook username and my Mac account when I try to download purchases on another device. The whole structure feels poorly managed, which is surprising given the quality of the rest of the game.

There’s also a minor potential issue regarding accessibility. The wealth of information and instructions for each table is certainly wonderful for enthusiasts, but it can be a bit intimidating for the casual pinball player. While I thought the in-app purchases were fair, I imagine some might balk at having to pay ten dollars to fully unlock all four tables. There’s also the fact that these tables are complex and actually require a fair amount of effort to learn and truly enjoy. I’m sure casual players could simply pick up the base game and play free versions of the other tables, but as I mentioned before, I feel much of the magic would be lost in that.

However, I think some of the above concerns are, at best, nitpicky. Furthermore, people on our forums have stated that the developers plan to integrate Game Center soon, alleviating my most pressing concern. Nevertheless, Pinball Arcade APK MOD is simply one of the best pinball games I’ve ever played, and it should be placed at the top of its class alongside other elite iOS pinball games. Each table is a digital masterpiece in itself and should make pinball enthusiasts very happy. Moreover, with the promise of many more tables in the pipeline (most likely as in-app purchases), this game should keep you entertained for many balls to come.
